Wood repair
Tackling wood rot before the frame has to come out. That often saves thousands of euros.
A frame that feels soft, or where the paint comes off in flakes, is almost always wood rot. Caught early it is a repair of a couple of hours. Left too long and the whole frame has to come out — the difference between hundreds and thousands of euros.
What we do
- cut out rotten wood and replace it
- make good with repair resin
- prime and finish, so it does not come back
- judge whether a repair will still do, or whether replacing is the wiser move
We are honest about that last one. Patching up a frame that has to come out in two years anyway is a good deal for nobody.
When it is time to look
Press your thumb on the wood under the glass and at the bottom sill. If it feels soft or gives way, the wood has already gone. Paint that lets go in large flakes instead of powdering off is another sign.
