It started with a brush
Huisschilders Den Haag grew out of the trade itself. The painting came first — the full renovations under the name BlueStork only followed later. This website was the first one we made, and painting is still where we are happiest.
We have been doing this work for over twenty years now. In that time we have learned that a painting job rarely goes wrong on the colour, but almost always on the preparation. That is where most of our time goes: cleaning, sanding, renewing sealant joints, cutting out rotten wood and making it good. What comes after that is the easy part.
How we work
- Look first, then price. We come round, look at the state of the woodwork and then give one fixed price. No hourly billing, no surprises halfway through.
- Work that is not in the quote, we do not do without your agreement. If we come across something on the way — rotten wood behind a frame, for instance — we show it to you and talk it over first.
- Water-based where we can. Modern water-based systems are kinder to the environment, give off far less smell in the house, and on well-prepared wood they last just as long as the old-fashioned alternatives.
- Two years of guarantee on the work carried out.
- We tidy up. At the end of every day, not only at the end of the job.
Where we work
The Hague and Rotterdam are our working area, along with Scheveningen, Voorburg, Rijswijk, Delft, Leidschendam, Wassenaar and Schiedam. Lately we have mostly been working in Rotterdam.
The company behind the name
Huisschilders Den Haag is a brand of BlueStork, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 83369988. The same people, the same guarantee, the same invoices — only the name on the van is different.
